Hadžiomerović: Amendments to the Law on Holidays will solve the form, but not the essence of the problem in RS

The National Assembly of Republika Srpska has requested the RS Government to submit amendments to the Law on Holidays of RS to the parliamentary procedure, Patria reports.  

The amendments to the Law on Holidays will enable the authorities in this BiH entity to comply with the Decision of the Constitutional Court of BiH, which declared the celebration of January 9 - as RS Day - unconstitutional. With the amendments to the Law on Holidays, the authorities from Banja Luka want to satisfy the Constitutional Court, but also to allow January 9 to continue to be celebrated. This time legally.

Mujo Hadžiomerović from the Council of Peoples of RS told the Patria news agency that the policy in Banja Luka will not solve the problem with this move.

- Celebrating January 9 means celebrating the declaration that the then representatives of Serbs in BiH adopted on that date in 1992. That declaration speaks of the separation of Serbs from the other two peoples in BiH. And annexation to Serbia. We know that such a policy was the cause of the outbreak of conflict, and thousands of displaced and killed people. So, Bosniaks do not mind the date as a date, we mind the celebration of the declaration, the celebration of a policy that cannot bring good to anyone in BiH - says Hadžiomerović for NAP.

Hadžiomerović added that the authorities in Banja Luka are once again solving the form, not the essence of the problem.
