Hadžikadić demands direct election of at least three diaspora representatives in the BiH Parliament

BiH, (Patria) - Independent candidate for the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Dr. Mirsad Hadžikadić has demanded equal voting rights for diaspora voters and voters in Bosnia and Herzegovina, meaning that all should equally have the right to vote and be elected in elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Hadžikadić demanded that during amendments to the Election Law of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the new law should include the introduction of a special electoral unit for the diaspora and the formation of a special candidate list for that unit; the option of candidacy and direct election of at least three diaspora representatives to the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH; the complete abolition of the existing procedure for registering diaspora voters and equalizing the voter registration procedure in the country and abroad; the introduction - in accordance with the Council of Europe's recommendations on electronic voting - of the possibility of online voting for voters abroad and ensuring monitoring, control and full transparency of that process, with full protection of voters' personal data.

"It is clear that BiH citizens with the right to vote who currently live outside our country's borders are discriminated against compared to voters in BiH when it comes to access to the right to vote and be elected in BiH elections. This situation must be changed urgently because all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina should have equal guaranteed access to every right, regardless of where they currently live," said Hadžikadić.

Hadžikadić is an independent candidate for the Presidency of BiH. He was born in Banja Luka. Today he is a professor at a university in the USA. He is one of the founders of the Society for Advanced Technologies in Sarajevo.
