Hadžikadić: Talk of coexistence divides people, we need a shared life

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - President of the Platform for Progress Mirsad Hadžikadić believes that the vocabulary about relations in BiH should be changed in order to create a real picture and need in BiH. We are publishing his statement in full.

I ask politicians and citizens not to use the words tolerance and coexistence when talking about the future of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

I know they mean well and are speaking about the multi-ethnic and multicultural nature of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

But tolerance means tolerating someone we do not care about.

Coexistence means living next to someone, but separately.

Neither is accurate for Bosnia and Herzegovina, nor is it needed.

What we need is a shared life.

That which, I am convinced, the majority of citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, of all faiths, beliefs and ethnic backgrounds, want.

A shared life. In fact, life.

Only then will Bosnia and Herzegovina truly come to life.

And be what it should be - an ideal for humanity.
