Hadžikadić: The only good outcome from Neum is a clear ideological division among parties

(Patria) - Hegemonic Belgrade policy and Zagreb's "friendly" policy, with branches in Banja Luka and Mostar respectively, along with Sarajevo's political immaturity, have led political processes in Bosnia and Herzegovina into a dead end, says Mirsad Hadžikadić, president of the Platform for Progress and member of the Statehood Coalition, in a reaction.

"Symbolically, the attempt to get out of the 'dead end' took place in recent days in Neum, our Adriatic pearl, from which the same friendly Zagreb, with the Pelješac Bridge, has made a 'blind bay'."

The goal of Belgrade-Zagreb love is precisely to bring Bosnia and Herzegovina to the 'wall', in order to justify their decades-long theses that Bosnia and Herzegovina is an unnatural creation, unsustainable in time and space, which needs changes and a new model of organization, which would ghettoize our country into three ethno-tribal groups, divided into the Sarajevo Pashaluk, the Banja Luka Parish, and the Mostar Diocese.

All of us, Bosnians and Herzegovinians, citizens, would, I assume, receive a label with the inscription 'unimportant minority', says Kadžikadić.

He adds that 'Neum' has happened before.

That attempt to divide Bosnia and Herzegovina into the spheres of interest of 3 parties, or rather 3 men, through the 'Mostarization' of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Foreigners spoke only with them, the leaders of the so-called 'national parties'. After the pressure from the Platform and other parties, the talks were partially returned to the state and Federation institutions, and parliamentary parties were also included.

The last 'Neum' was just an attempt to get the consent of more parties for certain principles of dividing the country, in order to ensure passage in the House of Peoples of the Federation Parliament and the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also some kind of consent from citizens to the possibility of such a scenario when talking about the future of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

I don't know if the parties that were in Neum were there out of a sincere desire to help or for some other reasons, but I fear that by their presence in Neum, they gave legitimacy to the forces dividing Bosnia and Herzegovina. This is best illustrated by the fact that neither SDA nor HDZ wanted to take the initiative for the next talks, but left it to the opposition, which naively accepted it.

Although, after Neum, everyone is shyly 'beating their chests', subtly attributing the epithet of constructive participants to themselves, the general conclusion is that everyone is a loser. And the biggest losers are the parties of the so-called opposition, because, on their first test, they showed disunity and the deep gap that exists among us.

Ultimately, Bosnia and Herzegovina and its citizens pay the highest price for all of this. The only good outcome of the meeting in Neum is that there seems to have been a clear ideological division among the parties in the Federation of BiH. I hope that is clear to the voters too," added Hadžikadić.
