Hadžidedić: EU was formed on double standards – one for them, another for us

(Patria) - Dr. Zlatko Hadžidedić, professor of international relations, told N1 that Bosnia and Herzegovina is in a delicate situation, adding that the situation has not been worse since 1992. He assessed that the European Union only declaratively advocates for a whole BiH, while behind the scenes it is working on its "erasure from the map" and the "formation of Greater Serbia, Croatia, and Albania." As an argument for his thesis, Hadžidedić cited that the right wing completely controls the European Parliament and Brussels.

"The worst year is 2021, worse than 1992. This is a much more critical situation than in 1992 in terms of the foreign policy environment that was formed with the idea that BiH should be dismantled at all costs and erased from the map. The European Community in 1992 nominally stood behind this, primarily Britain and France, while other countries did not attach much importance to it or were indifferent. Now we are dealing with the entire EU. Within the European Parliament, we will find different forces like the Greens and the left, who will oppose what is happening here, but the entire right wing within the EU controls the situation in Brussels and has no doubts that BiH should be erased and Greater Serbia and Croatia formed.

Answering the question of how the EU constantly sends messages that it is for a sovereign and territorially indivisible BiH, which will be part of the European family in the future, Hadžidedić said:

"They have been lying all these years. What needs to happen on their part for us to see that they wish us harm? Their conviction is that only an ethnically pure state can function, and they want that in the Balkans. This has already been done in Croatia. Slovenia is like that. It is similar in Hungary and Poland. This is a model that should be promoted everywhere in Western Europe. The EU was formed on double standards – one applies to them, and another to us. You have an example with state property, and Oliver Varhelyi from the European Commission comes and imposes that it be divided. Property cannot be transferred to any RS or FBiH. It can be given to entities for management.

You see one more thing. The story about the High Representative. Russia and Serbia stand for its abolition. If the Office of the High Representative is abolished, and the entire Annex 10 of the Dayton Peace Agreement is dedicated to it... if you abolish that annex, you have abolished the entire Dayton Agreement. An agreement cannot be valid if you remove one part of it."
