Hadžibajrić offered assistance to the Municipality of Ilidža: Now it is important to show solidarity

(Patria) - Municipal Mayor Ibrahim Hadžibajrić and Sarajevo Mayor Benjamina Karić visited some of the flood-affected areas of the Municipality of Ilidža last night. Heavy rainfall caused floods in numerous settlements, and the population was evacuated. As Mayor Hadžibajrić stated, the situation in Stari Grad is stable for now, but we cannot remain silent and blind to the troubles of our fellow citizens in other municipalities.

The images we saw from some Sarajevo settlements remind us how powerless we are against the force of nature. Last night, together with Mayor Karić, I visited the Municipality of Ilidža and saw the scale of this disaster. The Municipality of Stari Grad is ready to provide assistance to the Municipality of Ilidža to overcome this difficult situation. We can help citizens with food packages, water, hygiene supplies, as well as with material and technical resources from our civil protection.

This is a time when we must show solidarity with each other, and I want to say that they can count on us, "said Mayor Hadžibajrić.

Yesterday, during a tour of locations in Stari Grad, Mayor Karić stated that the City of Sarajevo is ready to cooperate with all municipal mayors and provide assistance. She emphasized that the Mayor of Bihać, Šuhret Fazlić, as well as the Mayor of Banja Luka, Draško Stanivuković, have also offered assistance to the City of Sarajevo and Sarajevo municipalities due to the flood situation.
