Congestion towards the south of the country, roadworks on several sections

(PATRIA) - Traffic on roads in Bosnia and Herzegovina is moving under favourable weather conditions this morning. During the day, we expect increased vehicle traffic on main roads and approaches to city centres. Greater congestion is also expected today on roads towards the south, especially on the Sarajevo-Mostar route. High daytime temperatures further complicate driving conditions, so we recommend taking more frequent breaks during longer journeys.

Slower traffic can be expected on sections where roadworks are underway, as well as on sections with active landslides.

Bridge rehabilitation is underway on the Zenica-Žepče main road, in Topčić Polje. Every day (except Sunday) from 07:30 to 16:30, vehicles alternate using one lane.

Roadworks are also ongoing on the A-1 Podlugovi-Sarajevo north motorway section and on the “9. januar” Banja Luka-Doboj motorway section, as well as on the main roads: Kladanj-Vlasenica (Vitalj), Tuzla-Šićki Brod (turn-off for Lipnica), Ustikolina-Goražde (Mravinjac), Sarajevo-Pale and Vrhpolje-Ključ.

Due to active landslides, we highlight the main roads Dobro Polje-Foča (at the locations of Sijeračke stijene and Tuhalji) and Gacko-Tjentište (between the Čemerno and Surdup tunnels).

At border crossings, passenger vehicles are not waiting longer than 15 to 30 minutes. The Brčko border crossing is open for passenger vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes.

Traffic is prohibited for vehicles over 5 tonnes maximum permissible mass at the Karakaj border crossing (near Zvornik). Freight vehicles over 5 tonnes are redirected to the Bratunac or Rača border crossings, while buses may use the Šepak border crossing. Freight vehicles may cross at the Šepak border crossing from 09:00 to 13:00 and from 22:00 to 06:00 (on weekends they may cross during the 22:00 to 06:00 period).
