Traffic jams at the exit from Bosnia and Herzegovina at some border crossings

(Patria) - The holiday and travel season can further create traffic jams on the main roads leading from the interior to the south and north of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Given the high temperatures that further complicate driving conditions, it is recommended to take more frequent breaks during travel. It is advised to travel long distances in the early morning or late evening hours. The BiHAMK Information Center appeals to traffic participants to adhere to traffic regulations.

Work is underway on the Podlugovi-Sarajevo sjever section of the highway, as well as on the main roads: Zenica-Žepče (Topčić Polje), Ustikolina-Goražde (Mravinjac), Sarajevo-Pale, Vrhpolje-Ključ, and Jablanica-Prozor.

Due to active landslides, the main roads Dobro Polje-Foča (at the locations Sijeračke stijene and Tuhalji) and Gacko-Tjentište (between the Čemerno and Surdup tunnels) are highlighted.

There is a long queue of vehicles at the exit from Bosnia and Herzegovina at the border crossings: Doljani, Hum, and Izačić, while at the entrance, vehicle traffic is increased at GP Gradina and Gradiška. At other border crossings, traffic frequency occasionally increases, but passenger vehicles, for now, do not wait longer than 30 minutes to cross the border. The Brčko border crossing is open for passenger vehicles up to 3.5 tons.

Traffic is prohibited for vehicles over 5 tons of maximum permissible weight at the Karakaj border crossing (near Zvornik). Trucks over 5 tons are redirected to the Bratunac or Rača border crossings, while buses can use GP Šepak. Trucks can travel through GP Šepak from 9 AM to 1 PM and from 10 PM to 6 AM (on weekends, they can cross between 10 PM and 6 AM).
