Traffic jams and long queues of vehicles at border crossings

(Patria) - At the border crossings Velika Kladuša, Bosanska Kostajnica, Bosanski Novi, Bosanska Dubica and Bosanski Brod, there are long queues of passenger vehicles entering BiH, while at both directions there are long queues of passenger vehicles at the border crossings Orašje, Gradina and Bosanska Gradiška.

Traffic of passenger vehicles is increasing at other border crossings, but for now it is proceeding with delays of up to 30 minutes, BIHAMK announced today.

Works have started on the Kladanj-Stupari main road, due to which traffic is proceeding in one lane, with alternating passage of vehicles, every day (except Sunday) between 7 AM and 5 PM.

Due to works on replacing lighting fixtures, the Bijela Vlaka tunnel tube is closed to traffic, on the A-1 Bijača-Počitelj highway section. Traffic is proceeding in both directions on the opposite side of the highway.

Due to works on the A-1 Visoko-Podlugovi highway, the driving and stopping lanes are closed, while on the Podlugovi-Sarajevo sjever section, due to the construction of a noise barrier, traffic is redirected to the overtaking lane.

On the Jablanica-Blidinje main road, traffic is allowed for vehicles up to 3.5 tons, while traffic for vehicles over 3.5 tons is still suspended.

Works are also ongoing on the main roads: Olovo-Semizovac, Konjic-Jablanica (Donje Paprasko), Buna-Stolac (Hodbina), Bileća-Trebinje (at the Žudojevići location), Gacko-Foča (in Sastavci), and at the entrance to Neum.

Works on repairing lighting in the Sikola II tunnel on the Žepče-Maglaj main road are carried out during night hours (from 11 PM to 5 AM), when traffic through the tunnel proceeds in one lane – with alternating passage of vehicles.

Due to the registration of passengers under the new European Union Entry/Exit System (EES), longer delays at border crossings are possible.

The Brčko border crossing is open for passenger vehicles up to 3.5 tons. As of December 2, 2025, the Karakaj border crossing is open for all categories of vehicles.

Traffic for all trucks is prohibited at the Šepak border crossing.
