Guterres expressed support to the Mothers of Srebrenica

NEW YORK, (Patria) - United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres held a meeting with a delegation from Bosnia and Herzegovina, which included Munira Subašić, president of the Association "Movement of Mothers of the Enclaves of Srebrenica and Žepa"; Kada Hotić, vice-president of the Association "Movement of Mothers of the Enclaves of Srebrenica and Žepa"; and Murat Tahirović, president of the Association of Victims and Witnesses of Genocide in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Guterres expressed full support to the Mothers of Srebrenica, promising them that he would strive to visit the Memorial Center of Genocide Victims in Potočari on the 25th anniversary of the genocide against Bosniaks in Srebrenica.

Subašić, Hotić, and Tahirović held meetings with Pramila Patten, Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General on Sexual Violence in Conflict, as well as with Nicolas Gerard, Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Children and Armed Conflict.

The delegation from BiH informed their interlocutors about the status of victims in BiH and all the problems they face. They also highlighted the constant denial of international court rulings on genocide by parts of the authorities in BiH.
