(Patria) - The company Lidl BH recorded a loss of 41.5 million KM last year, which is almost double the deficit of 23.5 million KM from 2024.
To recall, Lidl has also recorded negative results in previous years – in 2023 the loss amounted to 18 million KM, the year before 19.1 million KM, while in 2021 it was 7.6 million KM.
These losses mainly relate to operational costs, such as employee salaries and other regular expenses, and do not include major investments worth hundreds of millions of marks in land acquisition and construction of facilities, writes Biznisinfo.
The company is intensively preparing for entry into the Bosnian and Herzegovinian market, and these preparations require significant financial resources.
Lower revenues despite inactive operations
Although Lidl has not yet started regular operations in BiH, the company generates certain revenues.
Last year, these amounted to about 1.9 million KM, a slight decrease compared to 2.1 million KM from the previous year, and are mostly related to services provided.
The company's capital in Bosnia and Herzegovina currently stands at 617 million KM and is continuously growing.
The largest portion of assets relates to property, plant, and equipment, confirming an intensive investment cycle.
Lidl has already built or is building dozens of facilities across the country, while a large distribution center in Lepenica, Kiseljak municipality, is ready for operation. The opening of the stores is expected next year.
