(Patria) - The Mountain Rescue Service (GSS) Cazin today successfully carried out the evacuation of a fisherman who was in danger due to the sudden rise in the water level of the Una River in Kostela.
The fisherman was cut off from the shore, and the situation became critical due to the increasingly strong river current, which required immediate intervention.
The operation began today at 3:23 PM when GSS Cazin received a call for help. A team of experts immediately reacted and headed towards the scene of the incident.
They arrived quickly, and the evacuation was successfully completed by 4:18 PM. The fisherman was brought to safety, and the operation concluded without major issues.
GSS Cazin once again demonstrated high readiness and expertise in situations requiring a quick response. It is precisely thanks to their intervention that the fisherman was saved, and a potential tragedy was averted.
This operation serves as a reminder of the importance of GSS's constant preparedness, as well as the need for caution when staying near rivers and other natural waters, especially in conditions of sudden water level changes.
GSS Cazin thanked all citizens for their trust and emphasized that the safe saving of lives is the priority in every operation.
