GS condemns statement by Lars Vigemark, EU Special Representative in BiH

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Citizens' Alliance (GS) condemns the statement by Lars Vigemark, EU Special Representative in BiH, in which, as GS states, Vigemark relativizes the announcements of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the RS regarding the introduction of a reserve police force in the RS. 

„Refusing to condemn the announcement of expanding the capacity of an institution that committed genocide is proof that the EU has never moved away from the policy of the 1990s, when its special representative Carl Bildt drank rakija with Ratko Mladić in Dobanovci while the genocide in Srebrenica was ongoing,“ states the GS reaction, as reported by Patria.

„It is particularly unacceptable that Vigemark uses the migrant crisis to legitimize plans for further militarization of the RS police. In fact, Bihać alone has several times more migrants than the RS, and it is therefore clear that Vigemark's statement is malicious and turned against the interests of BiH.

We from GS reiterate our call to relevant instances in the FBiH to take the threats from the RS seriously and to finally focus on arming police agencies in the FBiH, especially the FUP and the MUP of cantons bordering the RS. Also, we call on all political actors who are not enemies of BiH to stop politicizing the issue of defending the country's survival. It is necessary to stop self-deception about how the plans of BiH's enemies are just pre-election rhetoric. The plans of the RS MUP are yet another in a series of proofs that this is not about pre-election rhetoric,“ the GS reaction concludes.
