Group of citizens near the US Embassy held a protest in support of Palestine

(Patria) - An informal group of citizens gathered today near the Historical Museum, as they cannot gather in front of the US Embassy, and held a protest rally for Palestine.

The goal of the protest is to draw attention to the current crisis in Palestine and express concern over the direct military and financial support that the United States is providing to Israel, which ultimately contributes to the genocide and ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people in Gaza.

The demands previously announced by the organizers are:

- Ceasefire: We call for a definitive ceasefire to end the violence in the region.

- Prosecution of war crimes: We demand the prosecution of Israeli politicians and military personnel for the obvious war crimes committed in Gaza. We advocate for these individuals to be held accountable before the International Court of Justice in The Hague.
- Sanctions against Israel: The protest aims to draw attention to the need for international sanctions against Israel, expressing dissatisfaction with the current state of affairs.
- Humanitarian aid mission for Gaza: We insist on the creation of a humanitarian aid mission dedicated to the reconstruction of Gaza. This mission should focus on rebuilding infrastructure, promoting economic rehabilitation, and ensuring general security for the Palestinian population.
- Cessation of US military and financial aid to Israel: As part of their demands, we call for the cessation of military and financial assistance from the United States to Israel.

The organizers had previously sent a letter to the US Ambassador to BiH, Michael Murphy.

"The extent of American aid raises serious questions about US responsibility for this war, as Israel would not be able to wage this war without significant arms supplies, which constitute approximately 80 percent of the country's imports, precisely from the USA. Human Rights Watch points out that providing weapons that largely contribute to illegal attacks makes the facilitators legitimate accomplices in war crimes. And this is a fact," the organizers' letter stated.

14,000 people have been killed in Palestine, half of whom are children.
