Grujičić: I call on polling station committee members not to allow even the slightest irregularity

(Patria) - Polling stations in Srebrenica opened at seven o'clock today, where voters in the repeated elections are electing the mayor and councillors for the Srebrenica Municipal Assembly.

The current mayor of Srebrenica, Mladen Grujičić, also voted and then addressed the media.

- It is our duty to vote and elect our representatives. I call on all other citizens of Srebrenica to go to the polls and exercise their right to choose their legal representatives who will fight for their rights in the Srebrenica municipality. Unfortunately, we have a situation that is turning into a problem: some politicians seek the annulment of elections, and then, when the elections are annulled, they boycott them because they are dissatisfied with some calculation or arithmetic of their own - he said.

He expressed hope that Srebrenica will not be held hostage by a particular policy and that citizens will elect their representatives.

- Certain politicians do not pursue a policy of caring for citizens and they do not care that our projects are stalled, that public institutions are suffering. We are trying to seize every moment to carry out the projects we have set. I believe that all citizens of Srebrenica, regardless of their ethnicity, will heed my advice and vote for whomever they wish. I believe the elections will proceed in the best possible order. I call on polling station committee members not to allow even the slightest irregularity that could potentially lead to the annulment of these elections as well - said Grujičić, as reported by Avaz.
