Grubeša: The Goal of the Revised Strategy is the Distribution of War Crimes Cases

(Patria) - At today's extraordinary 29th session of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, after two years of non-adoption and numerous urgings from the Ministry of Justice of BiH, it was adopted
the Revised State Strategy for Work on War Crimes Cases.

The Minister of Justice of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Josip Grubeša, addressed the present
media after the session, stating that the Revised State Strategy for Work on War Crimes Cases
was adopted in its original text, which was sent two years ago along with Annex B, and
which was drafted as a result of dialogue and compromise among all parties with the wholehearted assistance of the international community, especially the European Union Delegation. Annex B specifies the parts of the Strategy relating to cases against persons on List A of the Rulebook, regional cooperation, and the mode of operation and composition of the Supervisory Body, which were deemed necessary to define further.

"We emphasize once again that the goal of the Revised Strategy is to improve the processing of war crimes cases in courts and prosecutor's offices in BiH through adequate mechanisms, especially through the appropriate distribution of war crimes cases between the judiciary at the BiH, entity, and Brčko District of BiH levels, and above all to ensure more efficient processing of the most complex and highest priority war crimes cases within the set deadlines, and that a Working Group composed of experts from all levels of government, as well as representatives of the OSCE Mission and others, worked on the development of the Revised Strategy," said Grubeša.
