Greek Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis has resigned following a historic referendum in which Greeks said 'no' to austerity measures from foreign creditors held on July 5, reports the BiH news agency Patria.
Varoufakis stated that he is aware that some European leaders do not want his presence in the continuation of negotiations with Greece, and therefore decided to withdraw.
Varoufakis also announced on Twitter, stating that the Greek referendum is a unique moment in history when a small European nation rose against debt slavery.
