Grbavica: Construction of a modern children's park begins

The Mayor of Novo Sarajevo Municipality Nedžad Koldžo and Deputy Coordinator of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) Omer Aykon signed a cooperation protocol regarding the implementation of the project for the construction of a children's park in Sarajevo near the "Boško Buha" Center in Grbavica, reports the BH News Agency Patria.

Aykon stated that the realization of this project, the construction of a children's park in the beautiful ambiance of Wilson's Promenade, represents a gift from the Republic of Turkey to the Municipality of Novo Sarajevo and all the children who will use this park.

Municipal Mayor Nedžad Koldžo thanked everyone who helped realize this project, primarily TIKA, the Turkish Embassy in BiH, the Government of the Republic of Turkey, and the diplomatic mission of BiH in Turkey.

- This project is of exceptional importance for the Municipality of Novo Sarajevo, because in addition to getting a modern children's park on Wilson's Promenade, this also represents the beginning of cooperation between the Municipality and the Turkish government agency for coordination and cooperation, and we hope to continue cooperating on such and similar projects, for the benefit of all our citizens. The future children's park will be equipped with the most modern park furniture and equipment, such as the Colorful Park on Hero's Square and the park at the entrance to Wilson's Promenade, which the Municipality built in previous years - added Mayor Koldžo.

TIKA has already selected the contractor, so the works should begin as soon as the weather conditions permit. The completion of the works is planned for April 23, 2015, when International Children's Day is celebrated in the Republic of Turkey, and no later than May 16 on Novo Sarajevo Municipality Day.
