Gratz proposes amendments to the Law on Games of Chance - ban betting shops on Sundays

(Patria) - Dennis Gratz, a representative of the Democratic Front in the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, today submitted to the parliamentary procedure amendments to the Law on Games of Chance.

The proposed amendment to the Law on Games of Chance of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina restricts the operation on Sundays of companies based in the territory of the Federation that conduct betting activities.

The current provisions stipulate that betting shops may operate from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. every day, regardless of whether that time is designated as a non-working day by law or other regulation.

"Given that the Ministry, through recent amendments to the Law on Internal Trade of the FBiH, restricted the working hours of retail facilities to the period from Monday to Saturday, with a total of 90 hours per week, justifying this move by enabling workers to 'plan time with their families,' I believe that this amendment to the Law is necessary, socially beneficial, and in line with the aforementioned vision and idea," Gratz stated.
