GRAS repeats: 26 new buses in traffic from Monday

Twenty-six MAN and Neoplan buses, 11 articulated and 15 solo buses, will be put into traffic by KJKP "Gras" during the next week. These are eco-friendly vehicles that use compressed natural gas for propulsion, are low-floor and equipped with a platform for persons with disabilities, and will be deployed on lines where there is a need, announced the Government of the Sarajevo Canton, as reported by Patria.

For their procurement, the Ministry of Transport of the Sarajevo Canton and KJKP "Gras" allocated 800,000 KM.

On average, the capacity of a "solo" vehicle is 80 passengers, while articulated buses can accommodate up to 170 passengers, it was highlighted during today's presentation at the company's premises.

As pointed out by the Prime Minister of the Sarajevo Canton, Elmedin Konaković, with these buses, Gras will have 100% coverage of lines, meaning that schedules will be respected and citizens will no longer wait for buses for several hours. 

- The vehicles run on gas and have negligible emissions of harmful gases, which is important for Sarajevo due to air pollution, and the cost of the fuel they use is lower compared to diesel fuel and gasoline. This is a major step forward; we will finally have bus service at the level this city needs. The next phase involves the regulation of trolleybus and minibus services.

Gras manager Haris Gušić appealed to users of public city transport to take care of the vehicles.

According to him, with the newly acquired vehicles, "Gras" will have a total of 88 buses in traffic. A new contingent of minibuses is expected soon. Tram service is covered by 45 vehicles, while trolleybus service will be partially covered by buses.
