GRAS finally responds: New tram couldn't move due to power outage, they don't want to discuss other cases

(Patria) - It took GRAS four hours from the publication of the text on the Novinska agencija Patria portal to send a reaction/denial to its content, and before sending the denial, the press service first requested to speak with the person who wrote the text. After the conversation, GRAS sent the following denial:

"In order to truthfully and objectively inform the public, we ask you to publish a correction of the statements in the text titled 'Tram traffic stalled, new trams increasingly unable to start' dated 30.10.2024, in accordance with the following facts:

- Due to a traffic accident between a tram and a passenger vehicle near the Hygiene Institute (at the exit from the tram turning loop at Skenderija) at 08:28 AM, the power supply to the tram network was cut off, so tram traffic was completely out of order until 08:50 AM. With this, we deny the information that the disruption in tram traffic occurred because 'one of the new trams... could not start'. It is clear that no tram could start during the mentioned period for the simple reason that the power was cut off on the contact network," stated GRAS.

It is interesting that GRAS did not deny the other claims in the text, nor the information that new trams had previously been towed to the depot because they could not start.

Given that the author of the text asked the person from the Press Service about such cases, she said that she was only dealing with this morning's incident.

To the question of why the driver in the new tram pressed the restart/start button several times this morning if this is not a usual practice, regardless of whether the dispatcher informed him that there was no power, there was also no answer.

Therefore, GRAS will deny what only suits them at a given moment, but not everything that the public is interested in. But it is certain that we will continue to deal with the topic of GRAS vehicles, as well as the business itself and business decisions that are made to the detriment of this cantonal company.
