GRAS receives first three of thirty buses from Istanbul

The first three buses from the total contingent of 30 buses donated by the City of Istanbul to the Canton of Sarajevo have arrived in Sarajevo and are already in the depot of the Public Utility Company – City Transport Sarajevo (GRAS), writes the BiH news agency Patria.

In this way, the Istanbul Public Transport Company (IETT) has begun delivering buses, and GRAS's weakened fleet will be improved by this donation. Muhamed Kozadra, acting Prime Minister of the Canton of Sarajevo, thanked friends in the Republic of Turkey and representatives of the City of Istanbul and donors.

The idea for the bus donation originated from the BIGMEV Foundation, which previously organized the trip of GRAS representatives to Istanbul and is monitoring the realization of the donation until its successful completion. The director of GRAS, Avdo Vatrić, said that they had already been convinced of the quality and technical correctness of the buses in Istanbul.

- It is important to emphasize that IETT is delivering buses that are fully adapted to the standards of public city transport in the Canton of Sarajevo, so all buses will be able to be put into operation immediately - said Vatrić.

The delivery of all buses from the donation contingent is expected in the coming weeks.
