Sarajevo City Council to Decide on Awards Today

(Patria) - The Sarajevo City Council, at its session announced for today, should make several decisions on awarding individuals and institutions deserving of recognition for promoting culture, education, and science.

On the agenda are two proposed decisions on awarding the "Honorary Citizen of the City of Sarajevo" award to Philippe Douste-Blazy and Eric Hauck.

There are also two proposed decisions on awarding the "City of Sarajevo Plaque" to Dr. Claudia Zini and Arijana Saračević Helać.

Before the councilors is also a Proposal for a decision on awarding the "Sarajevo Snowflake" award to Omar Halilović.

The awards are given to citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, foreign nationals, business companies, institutions, associations of citizens, and other legal entities for their contribution to the city's development in the fields of economy, culture, education, science, health, and other areas of life and work.

City councilors will also consider the Proposal for the Work Plan of the City of Sarajevo for 2026, the Proposal for a decision on the City of Sarajevo's accession to the ICLEI Network (Local Governments for Sustainability), and the Proposal for a decision amending the Decision on salaries and allowances in the bodies of the City of Sarajevo.

Councilors will be presented with information on holiday decorations organized by the City of Sarajevo, as well as information on the realization of the Public New Year's Eve 2026 celebration.

Before the councilors should be a Proposal for a decision granting the Mayor of Sarajevo consent to undertake legal actions to engage lawyer Nicola Brigida in criminal proceedings in Milan against snipers in Sarajevo, it was announced from the City Council.

The seventh session of the Sarajevo City Council will be held in the City Hall, starting at 10:00 AM.
