City Board of DF Appeals to Mostar Citizens: Let's Not Allow Them to Divide Our City

The City Board of the Democratic Front Mostar calls on and appeals to all sincere and honest citizens of Mostar who see their city as a unique and indivisible whole, as it has always been, to express their disagreement with the situation of darkness, silence, and the lack of will and desire to resolve the situation by those who, "under the guise of protecting ethno-national collectivities," decide about our city and citizens. In the negotiations that have been tormenting and oppressing the citizens of Mostar for years, the only thing they dispute and because of which an agreement is lacking is the division of Mostar, apartheid, separation, and disintegration, it was announced from the City Board of DF Mostar, reports the Patria News Agency.

In all the endeavors of the Siamese twins SDA and HDZ, there is a complete lack of concern for the usual everyday aspects of life in the city of Mostar. For years, by inciting fear and aversion towards the other and different, they have been using Mostar for their political interests and goals. Thus, without any moral and social responsibility for the human being and citizen, they favor their families and cronies in the name of higher national interests.

They have brought the citizens of Mostar, widely known as people of vibrant spirit and eternal lovers of their city, to a state of complete confusion and misunderstanding of the environment into which they have brought their lives and their city.

Therefore, the City Board of the Democratic Front Mostar calls on and appeals to the vast majority of Mostar citizens who do not directly participate in decision-making and feel disagreement with such processes in Mostar to express their dissatisfaction with the bad intentions of dividing Mostar.

We appeal to all citizens who feel aversion to being divided into two post offices, two power companies, two utility companies, two schools under one roof, to exert pressure and not allow national divisions to revive in Mostar against its unique being. After all these years, the citizens of Mostar must realize their basic democratic right to elect their city representatives who should urgently turn to the life needs of Mostar and Mostar, and in addition to symbolic value, give it the value of a functional city that cares for its citizens and their needs. Let's not allow them to lead us away from the real needs of the citizens in the name of national interests and from solving all those problems that city structures are responsible for and have the authority to improve the quality of life of citizens.

We remind that Mostar, in its natural state, has always been a unique city, a cosmopolitan environment with a pronounced value of tolerance and solidarity among people regardless of religious, national, and cultural identities. What united everyone was belonging to Mostar and all its symbols, in whose name they always lived together. Exclusively belonging to Mostar, not its parts!

We call on all those who have the opportunity to create opportunities in Mostar to rise above personal and national interests for the sake of the future of young people and create an environment for normal functioning and meeting the needs of citizens.
