Mayor of Sarajevo and Mayor of Sofia Agreed on Drafting a Protocol on Cooperation

Within the framework of the First Meeting of the Capitals of the 16+1 Initiative (China and CEEC) in the Bulgarian capital Sofia, the Mayor of Sarajevo Ivo Komšić met today with the Mayor of Sofia Yordanka Fandakova, it was announced from the City Administration, reports the Patria News Agency.  

During a cordial conversation, officials from Sarajevo and Sofia discussed the need to concretize and intensify mutual ties in all areas of interest to the citizens of these two cities, and agreed to proceed with drafting a Protocol on Cooperation between Sarajevo and Sofia in the fields of economy, tourism, culture, and education.

Mayor Komšić particularly emphasized that Bulgaria was the first to recognize Bosnia and Herzegovina, and on this occasion expressed gratitude for the assistance this country provided to our country during the major floods in May 2014.
