Gradiška: Stolen savings of 800,000 KM from elderly woman

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - A man identified as M. M. was arrested yesterday on suspicion of stealing 800,000 KM from the house of an elderly woman in Gradiška, it was announced today at an extraordinary press conference of the Gradiška Police Administration.

As stated by the head of the Gradiška Police Administration, Bojan Škorić, the victim suffered material damage amounting to approximately 370,000 US dollars and about 65,000 euros.

It turned out that the suspect M.M. is related to the victim, and he is accused of stealing money and jewelry worth 3,000 KM from the basement of the victim's family home over the past month.

The stolen money was found in the suspect's house.

It was announced at the conference that the stolen money is actually savings that the victim and her husband accumulated during their work in Germany over the past 40 years.

For the safety of the suspect, the police will not release his identity.
