Not even five days after the official inquiry that the Patria agency sent to the Press Service of the City of Sarajevo and countless calls to the mobile phone of Mayor Ivo Komšić and the Press Service of the City of Sarajevo, we have not received an answer about what he thinks and how he views the situation and events regarding the General Hospital „Prim. dr. Abdulah Nakaš“, writes the Patria news agency.
Why Komšić does not respond and present his stance to the public regarding the plan of Sebija Izetbegović, director of UKCS and the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina to annex the General Hospital to UKCS and move the Government of FBiH into the General Hospital building remains unclear for now.
- The inquiry is in the Mayor's Cabinet, I hope an answer will arrive soon – this is the information we have been receiving for days from the Press Service of the City of Sarajevo.
The citizens of Sarajevo, with their daily vigils, have prevented the relocation of the General Hospital, and they did so by thwarting a well-laid plan in which the Neurosurgery department was supposed to move first, followed by other departments. Citizens have been keeping watch in front of the hospital building and are sending a message that they will do so again if they sense that a plan to abolish the General Hospital is being prepared.
Komšić, as the mayor and someone responsible for safeguarding the reputation of the city of Sarajevo, should have reacted by now, because it is shameful that numerous officials from other cities have spoken out, that citizens from Gračanica are keeping vigil alongside Sarajevans, while the first man of Sarajevo remains silent.
Every support in these decisive moments is remembered, but those who remained silent, and by their position should never have done so, are also being labeled. The attempt to commit a historical injustice to this city and its citizens will certainly not be forgotten, and for now, only the citizens of Sarajevo and other cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina are responsible for the fact that the "hellish plan" of one group of people has not succeeded.
The others, led by Mayor Komšić, are for now silent observers, and among the people there is a clear saying „he who is silent gives consent“.
