Citizens raise 130,000 KM in 24 hours for treatment of boy from Kakanj

In just 24 hours, citizens from across BiH and abroad managed to collect as much as 130,000 KM needed for the treatment of a seven-year-old boy from Kakanj, who suffers from a brain tumor, writes Patria.

Thousands of kind-hearted people joined the campaign after the mayor of Kakanj, Nermin Mandra, decided to donate to the boy the money that was previously intended for organizing a New Year's Eve outdoor celebration in the center of Kakanj. That amount was 8,000 KM. However, the mayor's decision was the trigger for the entire BiH, as well as citizens from other parts of the world, to join the campaign.

Mayor Mandra said that this campaign united the entire BiH; payments arrived from Kakanj, Sarajevo, Pale, Mostar, Ljubuški, and other cities, writes NAP.
