Citizens in FBiH hostages of SDA-SBB-HDZ coalition: Sale of state-owned companies bypassing the Federal Parliament

Deputies in the House of Representatives of the Parliament of FBiH have been given decisions on annual leave from August 1 to September 1, which is a clear indication that there was no intention to hold a session of this House, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.

As stated by deputy Nermin Nikšić (SDP BiH) after the session was interrupted on July 13, he knew that this situation would arise, where the holding of the session would be postponed until after the Local Elections, which will be held on October 2.

- We are in communication with several clubs at the level of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of FBiH to try to establish an agenda on what is important for the Parliament to discuss, and based on a sufficient number of signatures, we will request a session of the House of Representatives, i.e., the House of Peoples – said Nikšić.

He particularly emphasized that during this period, state-owned companies such as Agrokomerc, Sarajevo-Osiguranje, shares of Igman from Konjic are being sold off, various arrangements with financial institutions are being accepted, and that this must be discussed in Parliament.

- This government benefits from everything passing in silence, and that is why it suits them that there are no sessions. I think there will be no session unless some spectacular turnaround happens – said Nikšić.

Jozo Bagarić, head of the HDZ BiH HNS Club, told Patria at the beginning of August that there would be no sessions of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of FBiH.

We remind you, the turbulence in the relations of the SDA-SBB-HDZ BiH coalition has been ongoing for several months, and it was precisely at the request of the HDZ HNS Club that the work of the Parliament was interrupted. They stated that until the problems in the coalition regarding outvoting are overcome, they will not allow further work. The blockade of Parliament has been going on for almost a month, and it seems that the relations between the ruling parties have never been worse.

If next week, after the meeting of the leaders of the coalition parties Bakir Izetbegović, Fahrudin Radončić, and Dragan Čović, no agreement is reached, the question is how long the current government will hold the citizens of FBiH as hostages.
