Citizens Gifted Magic to Little Tamara Starčević

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Ice Magic of Novo Sarajevo Municipality concluded with a Pomozi.ba charity bazaar where part of the funds for Tamara Starčević's treatment were collected.

The Mayor of Novo Sarajevo Municipality, Nedžad Koldžo, presented diplomas to the participants of the ice skating school at the closing of the Ice Magic, for which this Municipality, as in previous years, provided the funds.

The closing event was complemented by a charity bazaar organized by the Pomozi.ba Association and the Ice Magic of Novo Sarajevo Municipality, where over 500 KM was collected for the treatment of little Tamara Starčević, who suffers from Dravet syndrome, one of the most severe forms of epilepsy. Koldžo also presented 65 gift packages and backpacks to other beneficiaries of the Pomozi.ba organization.

Numerous citizens responded to the charity bazaar, and also enjoyed the performances of six kindergartens from the JU Children of Sarajevo – Košuta, Rosica, Kekec, Zvončić, Mašnica, and Aprilski cvjetovi, as well as ice skating on a beautiful January day.

Since its opening on December 28th, around 300 children have completed the free ice skating school at the Ice Magic of Novo Sarajevo Municipality. The location was visited daily by up to 500 skaters and other visitors, who enjoyed the rich cultural and entertainment program.

During the holiday break, numerous educational, sports, entertainment, and interactive workshops were also held at the Magic. Children showed great interest in over 20 workshops, including music and dance workshops, literary workshops, and workshops by the DogsTrust association, Mountain Rescue Service – Sarajevo station, Red Cross Novo Sarajevo, Eco Police, Pričalice Association, Mozgaonica, and others. 

In addition to the aforementioned, sports and art workshops were held weekly, in which even the youngest visitors participated. Many participants of the interactive workshops won valuable LEGO prizes.

The exhibition "Eyes – Mirror of the Soul" by author Nisrin Panjeta, as well as the New Year's celebration for the youngest, attracted media and public attention.

As announced, an even more spectacular Ice Magic of Novo Sarajevo Municipality is expected in December 2019.
