A petition against the closure of the General Hospital "Prim.dr. Abdulah Nakaš" was signed by nearly 4,000 people in two days, and there are numerous comments from citizens about the latest developments regarding this hospital and announcements of its merger with UKCS. After the UKCS Board of Directors appointed Sebija Izetbegović as director, who was also the director of the General Hospital, the SDA announced that the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina would move into the General Hospital building, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.
Although the authorities are silent, as is the founder, the Government of the Sarajevo Canton, it is increasingly certain that the General Hospital building, which survived even the hardest days during the aggression, will be closed on a whim. Such a move jeopardizes hundreds of jobs and medical staff, and the Medical Chamber of the Sarajevo Canton has warned the staff of the General Hospital not to sign anything until they consult with a lawyer. Although some have already signed a "mutual request" to transfer from the General Hospital to UKCS, where they are supposed to start working on January 11.
Citizens cite numerous reasons why the hospital should not and must not be closed.
- Because this is not a private state that can be run by someone from the Izetbegović dynasty who tramples over dead people.
- I signed this petition because I am an unemployed nurse by profession, who had hope of getting a job in my field in one of the hospitals in Sarajevo, but with the closure of one of the hospitals, I now have no hope, especially when this monster of a woman will 'rule' over everything she can. Let's take to the streets and not give up the State Hospital, the hospital of all citizens of Sarajevo.
- This is, to say the least, a "crime" against the citizens of Sarajevo.
- If you're such a big shot, build your wife a private hospital and do whatever you want!!! The great doctor studied for 10 years.
- Instead of 100,000 new jobs. Jobs are being closed... And then we wonder why we are leaving... If I had somewhere to go, I would too... for my children. Anything to say is superfluous. Shameful.
