Citizens outraged: What is the difference between Rastoder and Masle?

The Cantonal Court in Sarajevo ordered a one-month detention for Nermin Masle (1987), who killed pedestrian K.J. (57) in Sarajevo on Friday evening, writes the Patria News Agency. The Sarajevo Court justified this decision by stating that detention was ordered because the public would be disturbed if he were released. Immediately after this news was published on social networks, discussions began about a similar case where Hava Dovadžija (1987) was killed on April 1st in Nedžarići by Semir Rastoder.

Citizens gathered in the group "Let's stop the terror against Sarajevo citizens. Justice for Hava Dovadžija" are asking what the difference is between Rastoder and Masle.

Namely, Rastoder has been at large the entire time, despite the fact that protests of dissatisfaction were organized due to Rastoder's release.

- At that time, the public was clearly not disturbed. I don't know, it's all taken too long, but it must finally stop the speeders on Sarajevo's roads – says a member of the mentioned group.

We remind you that the investigation into the death of Hava Dovadžija, a mother of two minor children, lasted six months, and that an indictment against Rastoder, who is charged with a serious criminal offense of endangering public traffic, was filed only a few days ago.

Citizens gathered in the Facebook group "Let's stop the terror against Sarajevo citizens! Justice for Hava and other victims!" have been monitoring the (in)action of the competent prosecutor's office for almost seven months, awaiting the aforementioned news!

- That news would have been significant if it had come half a year ago, if the prosecutor's office had done its job as it should according to the law. We remind you that the legal deadline for filing an indictment is six months from the date of the investigation's initiation, after which the prosecutor's office collegium must take all measures to file the indictment as soon as possible. In this case, which is clear from a legal-criminalistic perspective, the prosecutor's office was unable to file charges within the legal deadline, so we justifiably question the work of the prosecutor's office in more complex cases of corruption, organized crime, war crimes, and other serious criminal offenses – state the group, writes Patria.
