Gradačac: Hundreds of people at Nizama Hećimović's funeral

(Patria) - The funeral prayer for Nizama Hećimović, who was brutally beaten and then killed by her common-law husband Nermin Sulejmanović, was held today in Gradačac.

Hundreds of people attended the funeral to pay their last respects to Nizama Hećimović.

The funeral prayer was held in front of the mosque in Mionica-Krčevina, and the burial took place in the cemetery near the mosque.

The Government of Tuzla Canton (TK) declared a Day of Mourning in the canton at an extraordinary session.

“Members of the Government of Tuzla Canton will respect the wish of the family members that no officials attend the funeral,” the statement from the TK Government reads.

Nizama Hećimović was brutally beaten and then killed by her common-law husband Nermin Sulejmanović on Friday, broadcasting the act live on Instagram. He then killed two more people and wounded three. He committed suicide after the police located him.
