City of Sarajevo: Meeting with the Management of the Otoka Pool and Representatives of Parents of Children with Disabilities in the Coming Days

(Patria) - Regarding the recent events at the Olympic Pool Otoka, the City Administration and the City Council of Sarajevo wish to express full support for children with disabilities and their parents, as well as for all efforts invested in an inclusive society and improving the quality of life of our youngest fellow citizens.

"The City of Sarajevo has been firmly committed to providing support to children with disabilities, as evidenced by numerous investments and implemented programs - from infrastructural adaptations, support for educational and preschool institutions, to concrete initiatives that enable inclusive activities and everyday life with as few obstacles as possible.

In recent years alone, the City has significantly invested in institutions such as the 'Vladimir Nazor' Center, the Stari Grad Health Center, the Public Institution 'Djeca Sarajeva', and supported projects of organizations that provide direct support to this population.

At the same time, we consider it extremely important that all activities carried out in public institutions, including the Olympic Pool Otoka, be in accordance with legal regulations, safety standards, and internal rules, so that all children receive professional, safe, and adequate service.

The City of Sarajevo will in the coming days initiate a meeting with the Management of the Public Enterprise 'Olympic Pool Otoka', as well as with representatives of parents of children with disabilities, with the aim of reviewing all aspects of the situation and finding a sustainable solution that is in the best interest of the children.

Our commitment remains unquestionable: the City of Sarajevo will continue to support every initiative and activity that leads to improving the lives of children with disabilities and their families.

We are convinced that dialogue and mutual understanding remain the only true path to a solution, and we call on all actors to act responsibly, in the best interest of the children," announced the Public Relations Department of the Mayor of Sarajevo.
