By the end of working hours on Friday, 411,133 BAM had been paid into the account of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina for aid to those affected by floods and landslides, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria (NAP). Only on Friday, 31,928 BAM was paid. One of the more valuable donations in the amount of 10,000 BAM came from the Construction Company "Put", while the companies "Victor Retail" and d.o.o. "Sarajevosa" paid 5,867 BAM.
Interestingly, the well-known Sarajevo attorney Hakija Kurtović paid another 4,000 BAM, after having paid 3,000 BAM last week. In a statement to the Patria news agency, he said that with this amount he equally helped all municipalities affected by the floods, and that he also wrote to the Bar Association requesting that it join the aid effort.
- The Bar Association did that and they paid into the Red Cross account, but I believe it is correct to pay into the state account, i.e., in this case the Government of the FBiH, because we all seek help from the state - says Kurtović.
He further added that in this case, everyone asks the state to rebuild destroyed bridges, construct collapsed houses...
- So, it is logical that everyone who can should pay precisely into this account. All due respect to the Red Cross and all humanitarian organizations, but I paid the money into the account of the Government of the FBiH - added Kurtović.
Incidentally, in addition to the monetary donation to the affected municipalities in BiH, Kurtović also paid 1,000 euros for two municipalities in Serbia that were hit by catastrophic floods.
- What can I tell you. Everyone who can must help in such a situation - added Kurtović.
