Adžem's speech applauded: National leaders should resign, we don't want to raise children for war!

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Tanja Fajon, a Member of the European Parliament from Slovenia, visited the Parliament of the Federation of BiH today, and a thematic session titled 'Challenges and Perspectives of the Federation of BiH in European Integrations' was held in the House of Representatives on this occasion.

The session was also attended by the Head of the EU Delegation to BiH, Lars Gunnar Wigemark.

Members of the House of Representatives participated in the discussion, and one of the most striking addresses was by DF representative Dževad Adžem, which was met with applause at the end.

- It is absolutely counterproductive to tell these people that BiH is fulfilling its international obligations and is on the right path to the European Union. I am not for the term of BiH entering the EU, we are not on Mars. We are in the European Union, we need accreditation of legislation for the rule of law and social sensitivity. So, where can we enter. The paradigm of entering the EU, God knows, as if we are in the Horn of Africa and someone will transport us to the EU. On the other hand, the EU existed before the European Union itself. BiH is an excellent example of the EU – multinational, multi-confessional, socially sensitive with a well-developed educational and healthcare system until 1991.

Unfortunately, before the eyes of EU officials, from 1991 onwards, there was a cultural, political, human, and every other collapse of integral consciousness when we talk about Europe. At the borders of the EU, mothers, women, and sisters from all three constituent peoples were raped. At the border of the EU, such a slaughter occurred in which even children aged three to five were not spared. And now we will say that this is the past. The worst thing is that BiH, even today, when we say we are on the path of Euro-Atlantic integration, lives in the past. International policy bears great, almost crucial responsibility.

International policy, while offering BiH a European path, wholeheartedly supports another concept in BiH, unprecedented in Europe. And that is the rule of ethnocracy. When we say the rule of ethnocracy, it means returning to the Middle Ages. It means that history, culture, and religion are important to you as if globalization does not bring with it the compression of space and time and does not require trade, commodity exchange, a knowledge society, civic, human, and all other freedoms and emancipation.

How is it possible that the EU, forgive me if someone misunderstands me, I came out of a terrible war, no one bothers me in this country, except for selling the illusion that we are a European country. There is no world and Europe without borders, without consciousness without borders. When we see Europe, barbed wire, the suffering of refugees, which we saw in Srebrenica, is that Europe? When you say we are close to the EU, let's not lie to ourselves. BiH, if Mr. Wigemark is to say it honestly, is at the back of all developments.

We are not on the political map of Europe. We are not there because the EU allows ethno-national leaders to create an ethnocratic system in BiH, which means that if you are not a Serb, Croat, or Bosniak, you have no life in this country. 17 national minorities and others are considered backward in our country. The EU has accepted our Constitution, which is devastating and discriminatory for citizens, and we must change it.

The rule of law, on which the EU is based, which is the rule of law and the rights of the individual, cannot be in BiH and say no to the rule of ethnicity, and from them we will extract the individual. God, what must it be like to be a Roma, what must it be like to be Čović if you were in the Bosniak entity.
If you talk about politics in this strategy for the Western Balkans, everything is said. It is said that this is a country of corruption. The bearers of corruption are from the executive, legislative, and judicial authorities in this country. Who doesn't understand this, it's written in your exposé.
You say we are a country with prospects for economic development.

We don't, because we are a country with an import-export coverage of more than 6 billion. I wish your pressure on officials in BiH was on education. Do we have to be at the back of developments? There is no prosperity without education.

Mr. Osmanović asks how to keep young people, by national leaders resigning. By me not wanting to raise my child for a new war. So, who is ready to raise their child for a possible war every 50 years. First, help us, Ms. Fajon, I follow you and respect your work, to join NATO. Joining the EU is a given.

This country lacks security, and after that everything else. We are not that illiterate, the most capable children of this country work in your offices, and you are surely proud of them, but politically suitable and the most incompetent work in public administrations and agencies, which is why we cannot implement the reforms we have agreed to implement in this country – said Adžem, which was followed by applause from colleagues on the parliamentary benches, as well as journalists.
