Govedarica: Authorities Don't Want Fair Elections

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Why is it a problem to have scanners at polling stations that would determine whether a ballot printed in Laktaši or Sarajevo is valid or a forgery? Why don't we have cameras at polling stations, if we have cameras in supermarkets to prevent petty theft? – asked Vukota Govedarica, member of the SDS Presidency.

“The repeated local elections in Doboj this year, where it was seen that 17,000 votes were stolen, best illustrate the electoral fraud of 2018. Even birds on a branch know that elections are not a reflection of the citizens' will, but the result of a conspiracy by trained criminal structures that must not allow democracy to win, because their interests would be threatened in that case” – Govedarica stated.

He said that Dodik, Izetbegović, and Čović will do everything to prevent changes to the election law in this regard.

“SNSD decided to block institutions very easily precisely because they saw an ideal space for obstructing the election law. On the other hand, the opposition should have been much tougher on this issue, and I think we let this year slip away easily without anything more serious being done about it, except for foreigners trying to persuade domestic politicians to resolve this issue, which is a Sisyphean task” – emphasized the member of the SDS Presidency.

Govedarica said that Dodik realized that all his promises about the independence of Republika Srpska are bedtime stories and that the people perceive him in this regard as someone who manipulates and engages in political fraud to undeservedly gain political benefits.

“Dodik has, in fact, resorted to the old method which says that if you don't know how to solve one problem, you have to create another, preferably a bigger one, and that's how he came up with the story about the return of competencies. So, there is no political turn there, only lies and deception of the people” – Govedarica concluded.
