Govedarica: Dodik provokes conflict in every possible situation

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Former SDS president and candidate for the president of the Republika Srpska entity in the last general elections, Vukota Govedarica, told N1 that the problems of the Serb people cannot be resolved in Zagreb, and that it seems to him that "member of the BiH Presidency Milorad Dodik is seeking to provoke conflict in every possible situation".

Commenting on Milorad Dodik's visit to the Republic of Croatia, he said that it is not important in what capacity he came, but that it is important to talk.

"I believe that communication deserves a special place in interpersonal, interstate, and human relations in general, because that is how problems can be solved, in this case, open issues between countries can be resolved. The problems of the Serb people cannot be resolved in Zagreb; we have an international agreement that originated 25 years ago and was established in such a way that all problems we have in BiH should be resolved on a tripartite basis," said Govedarica.

He pointed out that Dodik's visit to Andrej Plenković was sudden, and that he would have liked "all three members of the BiH Presidency to discuss open issues with Croatia, one of which is the storage of nuclear waste on the border with BiH".

"If Dodik and Milanović did not discuss this issue, it would be a scandal," he said.

Speaking about the work of the current BiH Presidency, he said that "differences between the peoples in BiH are evident, so it is difficult to agree on some things and define problems with a common basis".

"It is important that we try to find common aspects that concern the future, the time we live in and through which we need to pass. I think Mr. Ivanić managed to establish a better relationship in the Presidency; Dodik seems to me to be looking for every possible situation to create conflict, both when he is right and when he is not. I am not saying that other members of the Presidency do not do this, but I want to say that this will not lead us anywhere. People are thinking about how to leave this country, considering all the problems that are most felt by the citizens of both entities. Our resources are not for development, but for the development of political parties and their infrastructures. We have SNSD, which does not rule in RS based on its own power, but has ruled sovereignly for 15 years. It deals with the theory of how to destroy other political parties, not how to achieve good results from the perspective of the RS Government. Who are the people who are a hindrance and who are in the function of SNSD - these are people who have no reason, no political shame, and are greedily without limits," said Govedarica.

He stated that "healthy foundations should be laid in these local elections", and that candidates and voters should do this together. He is convinced that SDS will win again this time in Lopare, Berkovići, Gacko, Ugljevik, and Istočna Ilidža, while for Bijeljina he said they have a problem.

"We have a problem with a man who has become everything in SDS, who held the pen and the payment order in SDS for 20 years, won and simply turned his back on the political party that nurtured him. We will gain nothing if we only change the government; we must change many bad habits that have been acquired in the last 15 years," concluded Govedarica.
