Guest appearance of the Art Gallery of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Dubrovnik Art Gallery

On Saturday, 10 October, the exhibition „Desire for Freedom: Dossier Bosnia and Herzegovina“ will open at the Dubrovnik Art Gallery, featuring Gordana Anđelić Galić, Maja Bajević, Igor Bošnjak, Mladen Miljanović, Damir Nikšić and Nebojša Šerić-Šoba, reports the Patria news agency.   

The exhibition was created at the invitation of curators (Monika Flacke, Henry Meyeric Hughes and Ulrike Schmiegelt) of the large European exhibition project „Desire for Freedom: Art in Europe after 1945“, which began in October 2012 and is led by the Deutsches Historisches Museum in Berlin.

This exhibition, produced by the Art Gallery of Bosnia and Herzegovina and authored by Ivana Udovičić and Maja Abdomerović, was presented to the Sarajevo audience in May 2014, and this is the first time it will be exhibited outside the Bosnian-Herzegovinian context.

The exhibition „Desire for Freedom: Dossier Bosnia and Herzegovina“ deals with the issue of national identity and all the freedoms that this identity (or identities) denies, restricts, or rarely grants us. It consists of two segments that at first glance seem unrelated, but when the story from which the “dossier” is woven is viewed as a whole, a causal connection is easily established, the Art Gallery of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced.
