Master of Finance: Over 3 Billion KM of State Money in Čović's Hands!

President of HDZ BiH Dragan Čović will manage the finances of the Federation of BiH through Minister Jelka Miličević, and state-level finances through his minister Vjekoslav Bevanda.

Practically, Čović will annually control more than three billion KM - warns for the Bosnian news agency Patria former deputy state minister of finance Fuad Kasumović.

In the redistribution of federal power, HDZ BiH was assigned the Ministry of Finance, which also includes the Ministry of Finance and Treasury at the state level.

Practically, now that he has these two ministries, Čović will manage all state institutions as well as all institutions in the Federation, because without the money he controls, no other ministry in the country can function, from the cantonal to the state level.

The same levers are held by Milorad Dodik in the Republic of Srpska. Dodik, through SNSD's Minister of Finance Zoran Tegeltija, also manages the complete financial flows in RS.

-The role of the state minister of finance is more important than the role of the state prime minister. The Chairman of the Council of Ministers, Denis Zvizdić, will be completely dependent on the state minister of finance, Vjekoslav Bevanda. Because, the minister (Bevanda) by his function is not only the state minister of finance, he holds many other levers with which he controls life in BiH.

For example, as the state minister of finance, he is also the chairman of the Management Board of the Indirect Taxation Authority.

Furthermore, the state minister of finance heads the Fiscal Council of BiH, meaning by that function he determines how much the state can borrow.

He is also the national coordinator for funds from the European Union, which amount to hundreds of millions of KM. The state minister of finance manages the entire banking sector of the country. But, there are also dozens of other functions - explains Kasumović.

Life in the Federation of BiH also depends on the federal minister of finance. Because, the federal minister of finance approves when money from the federal budget will be transferred to which institution in the Federation.
