The Mountain Rescue Service (GSS) Sarajevo Station, after the declaration of a red weather alert and heavy snowfall, warns mountain visitors about the possibility of avalanches, reports the Patria News Agency.
They emphasize that hikers should minimize their movement and exclusively use marked hiking trails.
Skiers, snowboarders, and lovers of other winter sports are advised to practice their activities exclusively on groomed ski slopes. Going to unmaintained parts of the mountain could endanger anyone who decides to do so, as current snow conditions in the mountains are conducive to avalanche formation, it was announced from the GSS Sarajevo Station.
