Goražde: Changes in the Assembly leadership and annulment of the competition for police recruitment

(Patria) - In Goražde, the extraordinary session of the BPK Goražde Assembly continues today. According to Patria's information, the Government of BPK Goražde will propose the annulment of the competition for the recruitment of 25 police officers, which has stirred the political scene in this canton and even called into question the functioning of the parliamentary majority. The government justifies its proposal with the fact that a Decision on temporary financing is in effect in this canton, and that the competition was announced at the beginning of January this year. This was also pointed out in an interview for Patria by opposition MP Suad Došlo (SDP BiH). The Government of BPK Goražde suggests that the competition be re-announced once this year's budget is adopted. 

Today's session will also discuss changes within the Assembly leadership. The Bosniak Club in the BPK Goražde Assembly yesterday made a decision to replace Edita Velić (DF). The proposal of the Bosniak Club is that Velić be replaced by her party colleague Aida Sirbubalo. This would practically not change anything in terms of party agreements within the existing majority regarding the distribution of positions.

After the decision, Edita Velić commented on her Facebook profile: „I note, although the appointee declares herself as DF, that this is not a decision or proposal of the DF, but that Aida Sirbubalo was elected to this position on behalf of the NBL, i.e. SDA.“

On the other hand, claims are arriving that Velić, as the president of the DF BPK Goražde, has for some time been privatizing the party and avoids scheduling meetings of party bodies because she is aware that she does not have a majority. The vote on changes in the Assembly leadership will show whether the existing coalition is stable. From the opposition, especially the Liberal Party, they continue to insist on determining the legality of the government's decisions on the distribution of funds to non-governmental organizations, as well as checking whether there were any irregularities in public procurement.
