Goran Selak came for nothing: No quorum for the session of the BiH Council of Ministers Election Preparation Commission

(Patria) - The session of the Commission for the Preparation of the Election of the BiH Council of Ministers was supposed to be held today, but due to a lack of quorum, it has been postponed to Monday, March 17.

As confirmed to Patria, SNSD officials, and two members from the SDP and Our Party, who had previously justified their absence, did not attend the session.

Today's session was supposed to make a decision on the recommendation for the confirmation of Goran Selak as a candidate for the position of Minister of Security in the BiH Council of Ministers, which was sent to the Commission by the Chairwoman of the BiH Council of Ministers, Borjana Krišto, on March 7.

Although the deadline for the Commission to make a decision is eight days, the postponement of the session also moves this deadline.

The Commission's opinion is not binding for the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, but the procedure must be followed.

The 26th regular session of the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly is also scheduled for Monday, and if the Commission completes its part of the work, an urgent session could be held to vote on the appointment of Goran Selak as BiH Minister of Security.

At the end of January, Nenad Nešić was dismissed, who has been in custody since the end of December due to corruption.

Regarding Selak, his name is also linked to the criminal milieu, and after the initiative to dismiss SNSD officials, the 'trojka' parties stated that Selak would not have support for the appointment.
