Golić's criminal record for negligent work expunged, no obstacles to his appointment to the CIP Board of Directors!?

(Patria) - The Center for Information and Recognition of Documents in the Field of Higher Education (CIP) of Bosnia and Herzegovina will soon get a new Board of Directors, which needs to be confirmed by the Council of Ministers at one of the upcoming sessions.

In accordance with the Framework Law on Higher Education in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Center for Information and Recognition of Documents in the Field of Higher Education is managed by a Board of Directors consisting of seven members. 

The Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina elects the members of the Board of Directors after a public competition based on parity. This means that two representatives from each constituent people and one representative of national minorities are elected to the Board of Directors.

For the position on the CIP Board of Directors, former director of the Investment-Development Bank of Republika Srpska, Bojan Golić, also applied. He was sentenced in 2010 to four months in prison for the criminal offense of negligent work in service, causing damage to the RS of at least 1.3 million KM. The Patria Agency has unofficially confirmed that Golić could indeed be appointed to the CIP Board of Directors because his criminal record has been expunged! 

After the opening of the "Medical Electronics" affair in Banja Luka, Golić pleaded guilty in a plea agreement with the Special Prosecutor's Office of the RS to committing the criminal offense of negligent work in service, in connection with illegal actions related to the manipulation of share prices of "Medical Electronics." 

The time he spent in custody from March 23 to June 29 was counted towards his prison sentence, so after the verdict, he became a free man. 

Members of the Board of Directors of the Center for Information and Recognition of Documents in the Field of Higher Education are elected for a term of three years with the possibility of re-election, provided that the initial appointment is carried out in phases, so that each year one third of the members are re-elected or reappointed.

The Board of Directors decides by a majority vote of the total number of members, provided that such a majority consists of one vote from a representative of each constituent people.
