Anniversary of the crime in Grabovica

(Patria) - Today marked the 26th anniversary of the suffering of Croatian civilians in the village of Grabovica between Mostar and Jablanica. The commemoration program began with the laying of wreaths at the monument to the victims of the Homeland War in Grabovica. 

The president of the Association of Croatian Victims 'Grabovica', Josip Drežnjak, in his speech expressed gratitude to all who came to the anniversary to together rescue from oblivion what happened in Grabovica.

„On the 26th anniversary, we gathered at this place to remember the treacherously killed Croats, women, children, the elderly, innocent victims of Grabovica. In this small place, 33 Croatian civilians were killed. The youngest victim was only four years old. 17 victims of the massacre are still listed as missing“, Drežnjak emphasized.

After the laying of wreaths, those gathered headed towards the local cemetery praying the Way of the Cross, and then a holy mass was held for all those killed in Grabovica.
