Anniversary of People and Justice: We brought morality back to politics

SARAJEVO, (Patria) – The political entity People and Justice is marking its first anniversary today. It was born out of the revolt of a group of brave people who did something unprecedented on the political scene of BiH, said the president of NiP, Elmedin Konaković.

"From the comfort of their positions, their functions, their membership in the largest party in BiH, they raised their voices against a system that did not harm them personally, but certainly harmed our neighbors, our friends. Some even endangered their existence because of the new political organization," said Konaković.

Konaković stated that they were exposed to various pressures, starting from the media, the party machinery which has influence in courts and prosecutor's offices. The president of NiP said that their goal remains the fight for change, against corruption, against party employment, to return to people what parties take from them, as well as to bring morality back to politics.
In the first elections, they received 30,000 votes, although, according to Konaković, these were the most irregular elections in the history of BiH. The expectation was expressed that they will achieve success in the local elections as well.

"We are already gaining momentum throughout BiH. We are expanding the party very quickly, we started in the Tuzla Canton, we are also working in SBK and other parts of BiH. We will approach the RS differently. In that electoral base, we will advocate for the absolute unity of pro-Bosnian forces and unite around patriotic ideas," said Konaković.

Ibrahim Dervišević addressed the attendees, speaking about his motives for joining People and Justice and the path that led him to this party. Dervišević is one of the prominent members of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, former commander of the First Glorious Motorized Brigade of the Army of BiH, and a war invalid. Dervišević said that in a moment of despair and difficulty, a group of people emerged who were ready to work on restoring morality to politics. Joining such a group, Dervišević saw as a patriotic duty.

Almedina Zukorlić-Pašalić addressed the attendees on behalf of the youth and women of People and Justice, stating that a year ago they dared to bring change to political life. Zukorlić-Pašalić also announced work on empowering women and their more significant participation in all segments of social life.
