SDA Mostar City Organization: Mayor Kordić is turning Mostar into a "case city" again

(Patria) - The SDA Mostar City Organization has issued a statement regarding the current political situation in the City of Mostar, following an extended session of the Executive Board of the SDA Mostar City Organization.

Considering the latest developments and activities within certain structures of the executive power in the City of Mostar, especially the latest examples of illegal actions in the Department of Urban Planning, regarding attempts to change property owners in several cadastral municipalities, as well as illegal convening of supervisory board meetings of companies and making decisions in the same manner, and attempts to fully place certain services at the disposal of the interests of one individual who personifies a certain policy, the SDA Mostar City Organization concludes that it is necessary to review the participation of SDA representatives in all bodies of the City of Mostar in which they participate.

"We emphasize that, in the best interest of the City of Mostar and all its citizens, we are trying to act constructively by proposing concrete and positive projects and activities for our city, as evidenced by the last session of the City Council and the adopted budget in which, through the Councilors' Club, we delegated numerous significant infrastructure projects in the interest of all citizens. However, for a long time now,
we have been trying to overcome mutual differences through dialogue and constructive action.

Despite our efforts, the intention of the Mayor of the City of Mostar, who personifies a certain policy, is evident, to try to turn the City of Mostar into a "case city" again as soon as possible, without regard for laws and legal regulations, and to completely disrupt the national balance in all structures through unilateral moves and decisions, including the positions of heads of city services, administrative organizations, and public enterprises, which is
a red line that no one has the right to cross," they state.

The SDA Mostar City Organization calls on and encourages all employees of the City Administration of Mostar to report any irregularities and illegal actions to the competent authorities and bodies. We will take concrete steps regarding any legal violence and illegal actions and use all legally available mechanisms to sanction the actors and perpetrators of such actions and protect the interests of the citizens of Mostar.

The SDA Mostar City Organization will, in the coming period, hold consultations with political entities participating in the work of the City Council of Mostar and will inform the Office of the High Representative, as well as relevant international community institutions, about the current developments in the City of Mostar.
