SBiH: HDZ has proven to be a puppet of Greater Serbian interests

SARAJevo, (Patria) - The Party for Bosnia and Herzegovina held the 2nd session of its Main Board on 03/31/2022 in Sarajevo, where the Party's Work Program for 2022 and the Financial Plan were adopted.

The Main Board was filled in accordance with the Statute of SBiH, and among other things, the current political situation in the country and the reflection of the war in Ukraine on Bosnia and Herzegovina were analyzed.

At that time, the following conclusions were reached:

1. The failed negotiations on amendments to the Constitution and the Election Law of BiH have shown the true positions of all negotiators. HDZ BiH has once again shown that it is not fighting for the interests of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, but that it is a puppet of Greater Serbian interests that Milorad Dodik is trying to implement in BiH. Relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia are fundamentally important for the progress of both BiH and Croatia, as well as for the stability of the Balkans as a whole. We call on Croatia to stop supporting HDZ BiH, which, led by Čović, is causing multiple damages to the relations between the two countries, as well as to the relations within Bosnia and Herzegovina. HDZ is not a representative of all Croats, nor do the majority of Croats in BiH think like Čović. On the other hand, the negotiators of the so-called pro-Bosnian bloc have largely contributed to us ending up in this situation. Our diplomacy does not exist, except for a few exceptions who do their job at an enviable level. The interests of Bosnia and Herzegovina are not adequately represented in countries that significantly influence the destiny of our country. There is no excuse for such omissions. All praise for stopping the disastrous solutions should be given to individuals and organizations in the country and the world who pointed out the disastrous nature of agreements that would lead to additional ethno-territorial divisions. Under public pressure, no one dared to sign the dissolution of BiH.

2. The political and economic reflections of the war in Ukraine are felt by the whole world, and these consequences are particularly felt in Europe. Potential security threats to Bosnia and Herzegovina must be the focus of all government structures in our country. The Ukrainian crisis has completely exposed the Greater state and nationalist policies in the Balkans that have been attacking the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Bosnia and Herzegovina for years. Policies that carried out aggression against Bosnia and Herzegovina, genocide, and a joint criminal enterprise have not been adequately sanctioned in BiH. We call on the international community to help progressive European forces in BiH and accelerate the admission of Bosnia and Herzegovina into NATO and the European Union. This would be the strongest message to the regimes in the neighborhood that have been undermining the functionality and prosperity of Bosnia and Herzegovina for years.

3. We call on the Council of Ministers of BiH and the entity governments to inform the public about the concrete steps to overcome the economic crisis that has engulfed Bosnia and Herzegovina. High inflation, rising prices of food and energy products have significantly endangered the standard of living of citizens. The economic growth we hear about in the media these days, as well as record projected budgets, do not reflect the picture of real economic growth. When we consider the economic decline during the pandemic and the increased cost of living, we will determine that there has been no improvement at all, but rather the opposite. The real question that citizens are seeking an answer to is whether we are ready for the challenges that will come in the autumn and winter when the whole world expects food shortages, enormous price increases for basic necessities, and uncertainty about gas supplies. All countries are making alternative solutions and preparing for the difficult times ahead. What are our answers to all these challenges?

4. It is unacceptable that excise taxes on fuel have not been abolished in the midst of an economic crisis that has affected the entire world. The most developed countries in the world are releasing huge quantities of oil and petroleum product reserves from warehouses, while nothing is being done here to slow down and stop the price increase. A reduction in fuel prices would have a multiplier effect and influence price reductions. It would be particularly important for the most vulnerable categories, such as low-income workers and pensioners, to feel the effects of such measures.

5. The long-standing obstruction of the work and the attempt to shut down the public broadcaster BHRT is another in a series of attacks on Bosnia and Herzegovina and its institutions. We call on the BiH Prosecutor's Office and the courts to investigate all circumstances under which BHRT has been brought to a financial collapse, even though the Law on the Public Broadcasting System of Bosnia and Herzegovina prescribes the method and sources of its financing, which are also the basis for financing entity televisions. How is it possible that the law applies and is applied to entity televisions, but not to the state one?
