Actors, colleagues, citizens bid farewell to Nada Đurevska: Irreplaceable and special

The death of the unsurpassed actress Nada Đurevska has surprised many of her colleagues, cultural workers, and all citizens who loved watching her in the theatre as well as on television, reports the Patria agency.

Actor Nermin Tulić bid farewell to Nada on Twitter with the words:

- Goodbye Nada. Rest in peace.

Director Dino Mustafić also left a message on social media after hearing the sad news:

- Tonight, one of the greatest actresses, Nada Đurevska, left us. She was irreplaceable and special! Thank you for every minute on stage and on film!

Among the comments is one that says the voice that gave hope that everything would be alright in the end has departed.

The Mayor of Sarajevo, Abdulah Skaka, said that Nada was a great person who felt Sarajevo as her city, which she fell in love with and stayed in.

- Dear Nada, we will preserve your image and work from oblivion, it was an honor to know you. May the earth be light upon you.

In 2014, Đurevska received the April 6th Award and said at the time:

- This award is such that it erases all successes and failures, all sorrows, joys, all dreams, justices and injustices on this often difficult path of mine, but on a path where it was most important for me to preserve my human face.

After more than 40 years on stage, Đurevska retired in recent years and battled illness. She died at the age of 65.

Nada Đurevska was born in 1952 in Skopje. She came to Sarajevo as a six-year-old girl. She finished Hasan Kikić Elementary School, and then graduated from the Secondary Medical School, after which she enrolled and graduated in acting. Her first role was in Chekhov's The Cherry Orchard, where she played Varya.

Her roles in the plays will be remembered: The Lost Son, Woyzeck, Hamlet, Double Bottom, Medea, Hotel Free Traffic, Paskvelija, Mother, Hasanaginica, Waiting for Godot, In Agony, On Foot. During the war years, she performed on all three stages of Sarajevo theatres.

After the war, she achieved top creations in the plays: Sarah Bernhardt, Tartuffe, Hamlet, It Will Be, It Will Be, The Dervish and Death, Endgame, Twilight, Roberto Zucco, Hanka, Game of Whist, The Fortress, Lame Billy, The Cherry Orchard, The Legend of Ali Pasha, First Time to the Elections with Father, Women's Turbo-Folk Band.

She also acted in numerous television series and dramas, as well as in a number of films from Bosnian-Herzegovinian, Croatian, Serbian, and Macedonian cinematography.

The memorial service and funeral date will be announced later.
