Actor Moamer Kasumović convicted of indecent acts against a minor in 2021, bought out one-year prison sentence

(Patria) - Actor Moamer Kasumović was sentenced to one year in prison for the criminal offense of indecent acts against a minor, N1 has confirmed from the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office. Kasumović bought out the sentence, and although the verdict was finalized in 2021, the public has only now become aware of these dishonorable actions by the actor.

“Based on the records of the KS Prosecutor's Office, we inform you that proceedings were conducted against the mentioned person for the criminal offense of indecent acts, which were finally concluded before the Municipal Court in Sarajevo. He was found guilty and sentenced to one year in prison,” N1 was told by the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office.

As reported by Raport, everything came to light after the Belgrade National Theatre's play “Tiho, tiše” (Quiet, quieter), which was performed as part of the 6th Sarajevo Fest on September 16th at the National Theatre Sarajevo. The play deals with peer violence, and discussions with the audience were held afterwards.

A young man from the audience then came forward and said that he was a victim of pedophilia when he was 14 years old, and that the perpetrator was a well-known actor. When asked who it was, he named Moamer Kasumović (43). In his moving testimony at the National Theatre, the young man stated that the entire case had a judicial epilogue and that there was a court verdict for it.

Kasumović lived and worked in Sarajevo for a long time, and one of his most famous roles is the character Damir in the series “Lud, zbunjen, normalan” (Crazy, Confused, Normal).

Kasumović bought out his one-year prison sentence for approximately 36,000 KM.
